How Can We Help?

Everything you need to know about Diecast Crew Chief — getting started, managing your collection, subscriptions, and more.

Getting Started

What is the best app to track a NASCAR diecast collection?

Diecast Crew Chief (DCC) is a NASCAR diecast collectibles management app built specifically for collectors and sellers. It lets you catalog every car in your collection with full race and diecast details, add photos, track purchase price and estimated value, search and filter your garage, and access everything from your iPhone, iPad, Android device, or any PC/Mac browser.

Think of it as your digital garage — organized, searchable, and always with you.

Is there a free app to track my NASCAR diecast collection?

Yes — DCC is completely free to download and use with no credit card required. The Free tier lets you catalog up to 25 diecast items with all data fields, search and filter, and view collection stats.

When your collection grows beyond 25 items, you can upgrade to Collector ($2.99/mo) for unlimited diecast items, 8 photos per item, and CSV import/export, or Pro ($5.99/mo) for unlimited diecast, cards and memorabilia, priority support, and early access to new features.

No ads, ever. Diecast Crew Chief is completely ad-free on every tier — including the free plan.

What devices does Diecast Crew Chief work on?

Diecast Crew Chief runs on:

iPhone — download from the App Store

iPad — full expanded layout, download from the App Store

PC & Mac Browser — access at app.diecastcrewchief.com, no install needed

Android Coming Soon — Google Play launch coming soon, join the waitlist

Your collection syncs in real time across every device you sign in to.

Do I need to create an account?

Yes — a free account is required so your collection can be stored securely in the cloud and synced across all your devices. You can sign in with Apple ID, Google, or an email and password.

Your data is tied to your account, so if you switch phones or access from a browser your entire garage is there waiting for you.

Managing Your Collection

What details can I log for each diecast car in my collection?

Each item supports 25+ data fields across two sections:

Race Info: Driver, Team, Car Number, Year of Car, Sponsor, Race Series, Manufacturer (Chevrolet, Ford, Toyota, etc.), Model (Camaro, Mustang, Camry, etc.)

Diecast Info: Diecast Type, Scale (1:18, 1:24, 1:43, 1:64, 1:144, or custom), Brand (Action, Lionel, Racing Champions, etc.), Series (Elite, Color Chrome, etc.), Production Year, Production Count, DIN number, Purchase Date, Purchase Price, Estimated Value, Condition, Autograph/Signed details, Certificate of Authenticity.

You can also add up to 8 photos per item, plus free-text notes.

How many photos can I add per item?

All tiers include photo storage. Free and Collector tiers support up to 8 photos per item. The Pro tier supports up to 8 photos per diecast item and 4 photos for cards and memorabilia. Photos are stored in the cloud and sync across all your devices automatically.

Can I search my diecast collection by driver, brand, or scale?

Yes. The search bar lets you find any item instantly by typing a driver name, car number, sponsor, team, or any other keyword. The filter panel lets you narrow results by scale, manufacturer, diecast brand, type, and more.

You can also sort your garage by newest, oldest, driver name, or estimated value.

What view modes are available?

Your garage has three view modes:

1

Grid — photo-forward card layout, great for browsing by image

2

List — compact rows with key details at a glance

3

Drivers — grouped by driver with item count per driver

Switch between views anytime using the toggle at the top of your Garage. Your preferred view is saved automatically.

Subscriptions & Pricing

What's the difference between the three tiers?

F

Free — $0 forever. Up to 25 diecast items, all data fields, up to 8 photos per item, collection stats. No CSV import/export.

C

Collector — $2.99/mo. Unlimited diecast items, all data fields, up to 8 photos per item, CSV import/export.

P

Pro — $5.99/mo. Unlimited diecast, cards and memorabilia, all data fields, up to 8 photos per diecast (4 for cards and memorabilia), CSV import/export, priority support, and early access to new features.

No ads on any tier. Diecast Crew Chief is 100% ad-free.

What happens to my items if I downgrade?

Your collection is always safe — nothing is deleted if you downgrade. All your existing items remain visible and accessible. The only thing that changes is your ability to add new items beyond the Free tier limit of 25.

If you have 80 items and downgrade to Free, all 80 items stay in your garage. You just won't be able to add item number 26 until you upgrade again.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store, not through the app directly. To upgrade or cancel: open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your Apple ID at the top, tap Subscriptions, find Diecast Crew Chief, then tap to change or cancel. Changes take effect at the end of your current billing period. When Android launches, Google Play subscription management will work the same way through the Play Store.

Are there ads in the app?

No — Diecast Crew Chief is completely ad-free on every tier, including the free plan. We don't show ads, we don't sell your data to advertisers, and we never will. The app is supported solely by optional subscriptions from collectors who want the full feature set.

Syncing & Devices

I signed up with Apple on my iPhone. Why can't I sign in on my computer or other devices?

Sign in with Apple only works on iOS devices (iPhone and iPad). To access your collection on a computer, Android phone, or tablet, you'll need to add an email and password to your account from the iOS app — then sign in with that email and password on any device.

How to add an email and password:

1

Open Diecast Crew Chief on your iPhone or iPad

2

Tap Set-up (bottom right), then Account

3

Scroll to Sign-in Methods

4

Tap + Add Email & Password

5

Confirm with your Apple ID, then choose a password

Once added, you can sign in at app.diecastcrewchief.com or any future Android version using that email and password. Your Apple Sign-In still works on iOS as before — you now just have a second way in.

If you used Hide My Email when signing up: Apple generates a private relay email address (like abc123@privaterelay.appleid.com) that forwards to your real inbox. That relay address — not your real Apple ID email — is what you'll use to sign in on other devices.

To find it: in the iOS app, go to Set-up → Account → Sign-in Methods. Under "Your sign-in email," your relay address is displayed with a Copy button. Tap Copy, then paste it as your sign-in email on your computer.

Does my collection sync across devices?

Yes — your entire collection syncs in real time across every device you're signed in to. Add a car on your iPhone and it appears immediately on your iPad and browser. Edit a value on your PC and it's updated on your phone. All you need is an internet connection and to be signed in to the same account.

Can I use it on a PC or Mac without installing anything?

Yes — go to app.diecastcrewchief.com in any browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and sign in. No download or installation needed. The full app runs in your browser with the same features as the mobile app, plus an expanded desktop layout with a sidebar and larger grid view.

When is Android coming?

We're actively working on the Google Play release. In the meantime, Android users can access the full app right now at app.diecastcrewchief.com in their mobile browser — it's fully responsive and works great on Android phones and tablets.

To be notified the moment the Android app is live, join our waitlist — we'll send you one email when it launches.

Importing Your Collection

How do I import my diecast collection from Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes — DCC supports CSV import so you can bring in an existing collection from Excel, Google Sheets, or any other spreadsheet tool. Here's how:

1

Open your spreadsheet and make sure your columns match the DCC field names — the easiest way is to first export a sample CSV from DCC (even with one item) so you can see the exact column headers.

2

Save or export your spreadsheet as a .csv file.

3

In DCC, tap the download icon in the top-right corner of your Garage screen.

4

Select Import CSV and choose your file. DCC will process each row and add the items to your garage.

5

Review your imported items — any rows with missing required fields will be skipped and noted.

Pro tip: Export a CSV first to get the exact column headers. Map your spreadsheet columns to those names before importing to get the cleanest results.

What CSV columns does DCC support for import?

The supported column headers are: Driver, Team, Car #, Year, Sponsor, Make, Model, Scale, Brand, Series, Prod Year, Prod Count, DIN, Purchase Date, Purchase Price, Est Value, Location, Status, Condition, Autographed, Signed By, COA, COA #, Type, Notes.

The easiest way to get the correct headers is to add one item manually in DCC and then export it — your exported CSV will have all the correct column names ready to use as a template.

Note: Photos cannot be imported via CSV. After importing, you can add photos to each item individually through the app.

Will importing overwrite my existing collection?

No — importing adds new items to your existing garage. It does not delete or overwrite anything already in your collection. If you import the same file twice, you will get duplicate entries, so import each file only once.

Data & Export

How do I export my diecast collection to Excel or a spreadsheet?

Yes — Collector and Pro subscribers can export their entire collection as a CSV file at any time. The export includes all 25+ data fields for every item in your garage.

To export: tap the download icon in the top-right corner of your Garage screen and select Export CSV. The file downloads to your device and can be opened in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet app.

Is my data safe?

Your collection data is stored securely in Google Firebase — the same cloud infrastructure used by millions of apps worldwide. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than running the app for you. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What happens to my data if I delete the app?

Your collection is stored in the cloud, not on your device — so deleting the app does not delete your data. Simply reinstall the app and sign in to the same account to restore your entire garage exactly as you left it.
